International claims settlement group AVUS has become the latest supporter of the Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights. In announcing their support, they pointed to the “importance of fairness” within the claims’ process, a key value emphasised by the Charter.
The AVUS Group is a global service provider with a focus on claims handling. In addition to handling motor claims under the Green Card System and the 4th Motor Insurance Directive, AVUS also provides international legal services in all other classes of insurance. AVUS was founded in 1960 and sees itself as an “entrepreneur” from the very beginning.
With 19 locations of their own, operating in over 150 countries and many worldwide network partners, they guarantee the reliable investigation, settlement and recourse management of foreign and domestic claims. AVUS’s experienced and qualified staff look after their clients efficiently, individually and with the highest quality standards in over 30 languages. Their high level of customer satisfaction has made them one of the leading service providers in the industry.
AVUS also has a long time relationship with Dr. Martin Metzler, a man who has often been described as the “father of the idea” for the Charter. Dr. Metzler was heavily involved in the discussions between COB, the Institute for European Traffic Law (IETL) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) which led to the drafting and publication of the Charter.
Speaking about their support for the Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights, Mag. Josef Schörghuber, General Manager of AVUS said, “With more than 65 years of experience in international claims settlement, AVUS fully sees the value of the Charter. It recognises the importance of fairness in the claims’ process, something we continually aim to deliver in our day to day work.
“We have also had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Martin Metzler for decades, one of the key instigators behind the Charter. He has always advocated for embracing the ideals of respect and compassion within the claims’ process and those have been guiding principles for our organisation for a long time. So we see a natural fit with the objectives of the Charter and are delighted to add our support for these important ideals,” Mag. Schörghuber concluded.
