CCN Group has become an official supporter of the Charter of Road Traffic Victims Rights

Charter offers certainty to victims in an ever evolving claims’ landscape – CCN

Becoming an official supporter of the Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights offers “certainty to victims in an ever evolving claims’ landscape”, according to Claims Corporation Network (CCN). CCN is the latest organisation to sign up to the Charter, which is a set of ideals aimed at helping those who are the victims of road traffic accidents.

Developed by COB, the Institute for European Traffic Law (IETL) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights functions of a voluntary code of conduct for those involved in providing compensation to victims of road traffic accidents.

Inspired by the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it focuses on the rights of the victims, making sure their claims are heard, they are treated humanely and with compassion as well as respect. It also emphasises the importance of ensuring those claims are handled with care and that the compensation due to the victim is delivered efficiently.

Headquartered in Rotterdam in The Netherlands, CCN is a European third party administrator (TPA) Claims Service Provider. They operate across 34 countries, working with over 1,000 clients which generally include large and international insurers, corporates, brokers, governmental agencies and fleet owners. On average they handle over 100k claims per year.

Their philosophy is to support clients in controlling and mitigating the total cost of claims, offering a platform that allows for fast, easy and simple claim handling.

Speaking about their decision to become an official supporter of the Charter, Group CEO, Cees Werff said, “As an organisation that handles cross-border claims within and beyond the European Union for insurance carriers, brokers and fleet owners, we are very much aware of how circumstances can change from location to location and from timeframe to timeframe. That has always been the evolution of the insurance sector. That is why we see great value in the Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights. It offers certainty to victims in an ever evolving claims’ landscape.

“Bringing stability and understanding to what people can expect from the claims’ process goes a long way to promoting balance and towards offering surety of expectations. At the end of the day, certainty helps reduce delays and unnecessary costs for all sides. The Charter of Road Traffic Victims’ Rights is a set of principles that we can fully support and which we believe could be of benefit for everyone involved in handling of claims – both insurers and victims alike,” Mr. Werff concluded.
